I read this book by Gary Vaynerchuk a year ago and it made me an instant fan and I refer back to the book often. It is well written and easy to read and understand.
He opens the book with a series of shortsighted quotes about how various communication tools were predicted to be unsuccessful, but were successful due to adoption by consumers.
The premise of the books is that the Internet has given consumers back their voice and their opinions via social media have changed the way that businesses compete. It has changed the way consumers and companies communicate, shop and purchase.
It addresses the change from mass media to the reinstitution of the ability to interact with customers a personal one to one as it was in our grandparents (and great grandparents) generations. It emphasizes how word of mouth expands exponentially in today’s environment through the various social media channels.
He points out that open, honest communication is the key to relationships with consumers.
The author provides several examples of companies that are taking advantage of this opportunity and enhancing their brand image as a result. These are the organizations that are successfully separating themselves from the rest of competition.
At the end of the book is a two page quick version on how to win in the Thank You Economy.
I recommend this book for any business or organization that is serious about taking advantage of the opportunities available in The Thank You Economy.
